Real time tracking of vehicles inside the plant

Solution expected to determine the vehicle's location in real time within the factory premises

Reward money is paid in exchange of legally acquiring the solution, implementing it to solve the problem and meeting the success criteria. Milestones for paying the reward money would depend upon the complexity of challenge and maturity of the proposed solution, which would be discussed with the solver as soon as the proposed solution is selected by us.

Challenge details:

Our plant is sprawled across 600 acres, commercial vehicles are assembled and parked across the plant, mostly in open areas. These vehicles are not equipped with a vehicle tracking system (VTS) and hence poses significant challenges in their tracking.

Previous efforts to address this issue involved implementing a QR code scanning system, requiring drivers to scan a code each time a vehicle was parked. However, this method proved ineffective as the drivers missed scanning the QR code. 

We are seeking a solution for an efficient vehicle tracking system within the plant premises to enable real-time tracking of vehicles. The current tracking process is manual and leads to non-value-added time and delays in final inspection. This challenge is applicable to more than one location. The solution can be horizontally deployed & scaled up on successful implementation.
