Solutions are sought for developing a cost effective design of solar panel mounting structures and civil foundations in backwater areas
The challenge requires designing of Solar Photovoltaic module mounting structure, structure foundation and civil buildings of solar power plants in backwater areas, submerged for four to six months in an year. Soil property in backwaters is mostly blackish grey coloured silty clay soil with medium plasticity.
The Government of India has proposed to use waste land for solar power plant. The proposed land is submerged for four to six months in a year and water levels go up to 1.5 meters in height. In addition, land is of clay nature with less soil bearing capacity.
The challenge is to develop a cost-effective design of solar panel mounting structure and civil foundations. It is expected that the optimized designs suitable for waste lands of sea coast areas with backwater will solve the land availability issues for solar power plants.

The workable design solution is expected to be proposed by the solver fulfilling all the requirements outlined above. The designs suggested should be floating yet customised for the existing environment.
