We are seeking an automated system that can accurately and consistently insert the cardboard material prior to the strapping of coil
In wire rod plant, after the wire drawing process is complete and the coil is manufactured, it is strapped after the coil is compacted. To prevent scratches on the wire product, cardboard-like material is placed manually at four locations on the coil (refer to image). The strapping wire rests on this cardboard, thus avoiding direct contact with the wire.
Currently, two operators are involved in positioning the cardboard, taking approximately 10-15 seconds per coil. This manual process poses a safety hazard due to the interaction between operators and the machine, leading to potential finger or hand injuries.
Previous attempts to automate this process were unsuccessful due to the difficulty in precisely placing the cardboard. Additionally, the limited space around the coil compacting machine and the requirement to place the cardboard within 10 seconds adds to the challenge.
We are seeking an automated system that can accurately and consistently insert the cardboard material. The new system should seamlessly integrate with the existing coil compacting machine.
